The Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee is seeking a motivated attorney for the position of Disciplinary Counsel in the Investigations Section. This position is in Brentwood, Tennessee.
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Disciplinary Counsel Investigations and the Chief Disciplinary Counsel, this attorney investigates attorney disciplinary matters and prepares and delivers continuing legal education presentations and matters for consideration by the Board of Professional Responsibility and Tennessee Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection. This position is considered full-time with benefits and offers a hybrid schedule, which includes work in office and work at home.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
· Investigate complaints of attorney misconduct
· Analyze and write reports regarding disciplinary complaints and claims
· Prepare and present reports regarding Board complaints, Lawyers’ Fund claims and ethics continuing legal education seminars
Skills and Ability: Strong communication and writing skills are required. Working knowledge of the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct is preferred.
Education and/or Experience: Applicants must be licensed in Tennessee and have significant experience in the practice of law.
