TN Board of Professional Responsibility Legal Executive Administrative Assistant

The Board of Professional Responsibility (BPR) is looking for a skilled and motivated Legal Executive Administrative Assistant. Under the supervision of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel, this position will support the work of BPR and Tennessee Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection (TLFCP) and keeps the official record for both Boards.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Accepts and files pleadings for new and existing BPR dockets; creates and maintains filings in dockets

· Serve as key contact for Respondents and Hearing Panel members in pre- and post-hearing matters

· Manage all processes regarding docket matters, including selection of hearing panel

· Serve as Legal Executive Administrative Assistant at all Board meetings of BPR and TLFCP

· Respond to inquiries regarding Board matters (including outside attorneys, judges, news media, government agencies, etc.)

· Research historical docket matters for respondents, litigation staff and chief counsel

· Create and maintain online repositories of docket and hearings information; maintain docket information on BPR website

· Distribute press release information including distribution to presiding judges and other state agencies, and posting on BPR website

· Supervise designated, part-time assistant

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: College degree and minimum five (5) years Legal Executive Administrative Assistant experience with substitutions for education and experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITY: Excellent organization skills and attention to detail; problem-solving ability and decision making within scope of position; commitment to process improvement; ability to interact with all levels of management within judicial system; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; database knowledge helpful; ability to maintain confidences.
