Nashville, Tenn. – The Administrative Office of the Courts has received 43 applications for the five seats on the Judicial Nominating Commission that are set to expire on June 30, 2011. The Judicial Nominating Commission is the body that reviews and recommends applicants for vacancies on the appellate and state trial courts for the governor’s consideration.
Members of the public now have 14 days to offer comments about the applicants. The list of applicants, along with each application, is available on our website here. The public may submit comments about the applicants until June 15 at 4:30 p.m. CDT.
Once public comments have been received, the speakers of the house and senate will have 14 days to appoint members to the Judicial Nominating Commission. Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey and House Speaker Beth Harwell will appoint Commissioners to the following positions:

Once appointed, the new Commissioners will serve a six-year term on the Judicial Nominating Commission.
