The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will consider six applicants when it meets May 1, 2017 in Kingsport to select nominees for the Circuit Court vacancy in the 2nd Judicial District – Sullivan County.
The vacancy was created by the announcement earlier this year by Judge R. Jerry Beck that he will retire June 30.
The applicants are:
Ashley D. Boyer, Bristol
Ricky A.W. Curtis, Piney Flats
Peter M. Filetti, Blountville
Mark D. Harris, Kingsport
John D. Parker, Jr., Kingsport
William K. Rogers, Kingsport
The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will interview the applicants on Monday, May 1 at the Meadowview Conference Resort & Convention Center, 1901 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport, TN 37660-7375. The meeting will include a public hearing starting at 9:00 a.m. EDT, during which anyone may express their opinions in opposition to the applicants. The interview and public hearing will be open to the public.
The Commission is expected to vote immediately following the interviews and forward three names to Gov. Bill Haslam for his consideration.
