Newly appointed Knox County Criminal Court Judge Steve Sword will be sworn in by Governor Bill Haslam at a formal investiture ceremony on Monday, August 8 at 8:30 a.m. EDT. The ceremony will be held in the Division 1 Courtroom at the City County Building at 400 Main Avenue in Knoxville, Tenn.
There will be a reception following the ceremony. The public is invited to attend both the ceremony and reception.
Sword was appointed by Governor Haslam to replace Judge Richard Baumgartner, who retired from the bench in March.
Earlier this week, Sword was sworn in by Judge Mary Beth Leibowitz and Judge Bob McGee, fellow Knox County Criminal Court judges. To see pictures from the event, click here for the story from the Knoxville News Sentinel.
