Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Janice M. Holder recently was honored by her alma mater University of Pittsburgh for her leadership and dedication to the legal needs of Tennesseans throughout her career.
The school presented her with its 225th Anniversary Medallion, which was commissioned in 2012 by the university’s Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg to celebrate 225 years of “building better lives."
The award recognizes Holder’s “longstanding and dedicated leadership and service that has benefitted the people of Tennessee and those who serve Tennessee’s legal community; and for her mentoring of young people and young professionals.”
The Medallion builds on the tradition started during Pitt’s bicentennial year and awards the new medallions to a very special group of recipients – alumni whose achievements have brought honor to the university and whose efforts have contributed to Pitt’s progress over the past 25 years.
Holder graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science. She also attended Allegheny College and received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.
