Williamson County General Sessions Judge Al Nations has announced he will retire at the end of September. “I am incredibly grateful to the citizens of Williamson County for the opportunity to serve the community for 18 years as a judge and 25 as a school teacher and administrator,” Judge Nations said. “Williamson County has been very good to me.” Judge Nations notified the county commission last week that his last day will be September 30. He has been a general sessions judge since 1995. Judge Nations earned his Bachelor of Arts from Elmhurst College and a masters degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He was awarded a Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law in 1988. Judge Nations said he plans to take a few months of retirement to make plans for the future, but he intends to stay active in service to the community. Judge Nations and his wife, Carol, a retired school teacher, have a son, Alfred, who serves as a Williamson County Sheriff’s deputy. Alfred and his wife, Erin, have a daughter, Molly.
