Justice Gary R. Wade will be the next dean of the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law after he retires from the Tennessee Supreme Court in September.
Justice Wade was introduced to the faculty and staff of the law school earlier today while they were attending a conference at a Southeastern Association of Law Schools conference being held this week in Boca Raton, Florida.
“It’s pretty easy for me to embrace that kind of mission – to serve the people of the southern Appalachian area,” Justice Wade said. “I have witnessed in my lifetime so much advancement of the people in my community and this is an opportunity to show my appreciation for that.”
LMU’s website says it offers a values-based learning community and “strives to give students a foundation for a more productive life by upholding the principles of Abraham Lincoln’s life.”
