The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will consider 10 applicants when it meets on Tuesday, September 25 in Columbia to select nominees for the Circuit Court judge vacancy in the 22nd Judicial District. This district covers Giles, Lawrence, Maury, and Wayne Counties. There is an upcoming vacancy in this position due to the impending retirement of the Honorable Robert L. Jones, who will end his service effective October 31, 2018.

The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will interview the applicants on September 25 in the auditorium of Columbia Central High School, located at 921 Lion Parkway, Columbia.
The meeting will include a public hearing starting at 9 a.m. CDT, during which anyone may express their opinions in opposition to the applicants. Those wishing to attend can enter through the event center entrance located to the left rear of the school. Do not enter through the school’s main entrance.
The Commission is expected to vote immediately following the interviews and forward three names to Governor Bill Haslam for his consideration.
